![]() The hotkeys do what I expect them to do.Īs someone coming into the UX software world, learning a brand new program is daunting, so anything that can be done to make life easier. That said, I use XD for one simple reason. My background is in photography and videography, and as such i have nearly 20 years of adobe experience. Which they teach in a single 6hr/one day workshop. I'm currently in a UX program that requires Sketch as a prereq for the program. ![]() I can tell you my experience as someone entering the UX field after a decade in another industry. Triple click to edit a symbol with text. In Sketch you can set up complex export options like, 1x, 2x, 3x in PNG, PDF and JPG all at once, where as with XD its one export, one format. Nested symbols - you can't override a symbol and swap out one for another Zoom works the way all other Adobe products work, but after getting used to zoom in Sketch I am spoiled. You can't select and item and zoom in to the selected item. XD in its current state is great for proof of concept work but the workflow overall feels slow. That said, I am convinced Sketch with the right plugins is a platform thats great for hardcore production. These days being a designer is kind of like being a photographer where skills are not tool dependent (we all can agree on this yeah?). Honestly, I don't think it's an either/or situation. I could literally spend hours shitting on it, but, I'll keep it short. My favorite new thing is to totally shit on XD and defend my position to the death.
